Adopt-A-Plot
The Adopt-A-Plot gardens came
about in 1980 as a remedy for the old rose garden in Ault Park which had fallen
into neglect and disrepair due to budget cuts.
The Park Board Volunteers, headed by Marlene Holwadel, took the
initiative. They organized a series of
forty two gardens with varying dimensions.
These gardens were established to be an educational garden sampler,
created and maintained by volunteers.
Adopt-A-Plot gardens have been award winners, but most importantly are
appreciated daily by park visitors.
This site contains a map of
the volunteer gardens, and pictures.
Enjoy!
