"Gee, are there any hills in Cincinnati?"
To train for the upcoming Columbus Fall Challenge (Oct. 5 & 6) some of us have decided to train by creating a century course through the hills of Eastern Cincinnati. Anyone with an unusual need for self inflicted pain is welcome to join us.
We will leave the Bike Trail parking lot in Loveland at 7:30 am sharp. Our goal is to ride as a group through the entire ride with a goal of everyone finishing the ride. This is an unsupported ride. This means there will be no sag wagon and no designed rest stops. All stops will come by way of UDFs, gas stations, and any other convenience store that fits the bill.
I will provide printed maps for everyone in case someone gets separated from the group, or someone wants to forge ahead on their own.
The route covers hills in the Loveland area, moves out to the Batavia area, and the last 30 or so miles are spent in Indian Hill, with approximately 17 climbs throughout the route. The last three climbs consist of Indian Hill Road (mile 75), Cunningham Road (mile 85), and Spooky Hollow Road (mile 89).
Below are links to maps of the different segments
of the course. Some of the pieces are not finalized, but will hopefully be
finished in the next few weeks.
