The 1970 Deputy was a mid year introduction that was a budget car. Seems odd that anyone wanting to save money by ordering one would opt for extra cost high impact paint, but this is the original color of the car. The rear windows are fixed, thus it is a coupe (code A93). The rear window is actually mounted in the guide to lower the window like any other Challenger. However, there is a bolt holding the window from lowering and there is no window crank mechanism. In 1970 the Deputy had a silver covers over the rear window crank holes. Additionally, Deputy models had Barracuda seats and only one horn.
The shaker hood is now on the car. It looks great. The shop primed the top but left the bottom bare metal. I tucked the original flat hood away. Next comes the rest of the body work. A disc swap will be going in as well since I found all the parts needed. If you are considering this swap, check out the well written article in Mopar Action tech archive. The sheriff would approve.
