I haven't been able to get out yet this month, but I was able to hit the big River on February 29th with my neighbor, Jeff.  And by the way, Jeff is the one who got me back into fishing two years ago.  So, all of you who have been putting up with me now have someone to blame.  LOL!!!

On February 29th, Jeff and I took my boat out onto the Ohio River to see if we could land the first ever fish on my boat.  Jeff struck first around 12:30 catching this "baby" channel cat.

I caught the second fish about 20 minutes later - a 9.2 pound Blue.

Both fish were caught on cut shad in about 34 feet of water.  And these were the only fish we caught this day.  About 20-30 minutes later, we headed back to the ramp to pick up my wife and step-daughter to take them boating.

New Year's Day found me fishing below the Paint Creek spillway with several members of gofishohio.com.  Those in attendance were Catking, Flathunter (Jack), Roadman, Dip, Bill_gfish, Buzzbait, and myself.  Buzzbait caught a few small saugeyes and Jack caught his first channel cat of the season.

I also caught my first catfish of the season - a 1 pound 15 ounce channel cat, of which I didn't have the sense to have someone take a picture of.  In my opinion, 2004 got off to a great start.
