Boy, oh, boy have I been
busy! Things have been so hectic around here that I haven’t had time to sit down and tell you about how I’m doing. I started walking the day after Christmas and don’t sit down unless I have to. I’ve also learned how to talk and know a lot of words. I’ve even learned to put lots of them together to make sentences. I’ve had my first Christmas which was really nice. We got to go to Grandma and Grandpa Whitacre’s for Christmas Eve and for Christmas Dinner when I saw Great Grandma Mumma. I even got a new toy from Santa. On New Year’s Eve, we got together with the Hensleys and Mrs. Messersmith since Mr. Messersmith was out of town. She was my date, and we had a good time at dinner and playing games. They even woke me up to ring in the new year. On New Year’s Day, I got to watch the Buckeye game with the Heckmans and play with my buddy, Reese. I also had my first birthday which was really neat. Mom and Dad had a little party with family and friends, and I even got to taste ice cream and cake for the first time. The ice cream was good, but I’m not too sure about that cake stuff. Fortunately, Reese was there to show me how to get as much of it on my face as possible - I’ve learned a lot from him. I was pretty sad in April when we had to go over to the Messersmith’s house and help them put things in boxes. Mom said I was very helpful when I was putting paper in the boxes, but I really wanted to get into them to play. They had to move to California so I won’t get to see them much, but they gave me a stuffed dog that I really like to remember them by. This week I got to go to the Zoo. I really liked it and spent a lot of time saying "Hello" to all the animals. I even knew what many of them said so I could say hello in their language. I said "roar" to the lion, "growl" to the tiger and "quack " to the duck. I even got to see a Rhino just like Rumble who is my stuffed animal that I sleep with - that was my favorite. At my last doctor visit, I weighed 25 pounds and was 30 inches tall. I think I’ve grown a little more since I’m now in bigger clothes and had to get new shoes since my old ones were too small. Speaking of growing, Mommy’s belly is looking funny, and I have to be gentle when I touch it. I guess it’s because there are two babies in there. I know that because I can count to three now so I know how many that is. They found out that one is a little sister and the other is a little brother, and I get to meet them in the fall. I think things are going to get a little crazy around here after that, but I think I can help Mom and Dad through. Mom and Dad said that if you ever want a copy of one of the pictures to let them know which one, and they will send it to you. Here's my special groups of pictures. I hope you like them.
