My name is Carol. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.  My grandchildren call me Grandma Carol - so I chose that as my screen name.  I have always had a fascination with lighthouses.  I was a very young girl when, on one trip to the library, I found a book about a little girl who spent a summer with her grizzly old grandfather who was the lighthouse keeper.  She had many adventures while learning to know and love her grandfather.  For the life of me, I cannot remember the name of the book.  From that day on, lighthouses became my hidden passion. 

Today, I have a collection of lighthouse replicas, books about lighthouses, and lighthouse pictures hang upon my walls.  I even have tee-shirts and sweatshirts  proclaiming that I am a Lighthouse Collector. 

I will be married to my husband, Alan, for thirty-eight years on July 31th. I have four children. The eldest is a daughter. Lana is married to Chris.  Lana is the mother of my two grandsons, Kevin and Christopher. My second eldest is also a daughter. Gina is married to Daniel and she is the mother of my only granddaughter, Crysta. Danny has two sons from his previous marriage. My step-grandsons are Dustin and Brian. 

My two youngest children are both sons and are still living at home. They are Gregory and Robert.  Robert has created a webpage for children.  The entire page is about the cartoon character, Taz.  Visit The Taz Mansion if Taz is one of your favorites. The Taz Mansion has won the Enchanted Forest Award of Excellence, Enchanted Forest Squires of the Forest Award and the Enchanted Forest Knights of the Forest Award.

My granddaughter, Crysta, is  working on her own web site.  Crysta is 11 years old.  We have three cats named Bunny, Shadow and Daisy Mae. 

I enjoy reading, writing, crafts, needlework, cooking, collecting recipes, gardening and computering. My daughter, Gina, calls me a "Software Junkie"! 

I have been heavily involved in both the Girl Scout and Cub Scout programs. I was everything from a troop and den leader to Neighborhood Director and Trailblazer District Training Commissioner. I retired from scouting a several years ago after serving for almost nine years.
