Battle of Rogersville (Battle of Big Creek)

Hawkins County, Tennessee November 6, 1863  

Every battle has its related stories. Sometimes fact and sometimes fiction, they are more often than not a little of each. Rogersville was no exception. Here are some of the stories about events associated with the battle:

•  The Escape is a thrilling, true-life story told by the adjutant of the 7th Ohio Cavalry who was captured at Rogersville and escaped back to union lines while on his way to Libby Prison.
